🤖 Meta's AI assistant takes ten points of search share from Google

Jason's dated call the week Meta wired its AI assistant into the search box of Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook and pointed meta.ai at a search-like experience: Meta puts a modern search engine in front of ~3B users and, for the first time in one ad network, pairs content data with the psychographic graph that Google+ spent billions failing to build. So Meta takes roughly ten points of the search market inside three or four years - ~$150B of market cap transferred off Google's ~$1.5T search franchise - and, more importantly, ends up with individual-level ad data nobody can match.
