Zuckerberg's 'Future is for Everyone' manifesto positions Meta as the open-source hero: free agents and tutors for everyone, best American open-source model within a year, T-Rex in the rearview mirror of the frontier labs.

The green stuff can't scale in the short term. It's all gas-powered for the new data centers. That's the only way to get the amount of scale that you need in the next year or two.

We're going to run on natural gas for a while. We have a lot of natural gas in America. It's the greenest carbon fuel... Caterpillar, Cummins, GE Vernova, Siemens Energy — they are all expanding capacity fast... people are taking jet engines off old planes and repurposing them as turbines to power data centers.

The overwhelming majority of tokens are profitable for everyone in the chain, everyone. Anthropic is generating cash... [On $2T:] these leaks are always coming from the bankers who probably lost lead left... if it comes out at two trillion, it probably means the roadshow went incredibly well. People do want to own this. [I said 3 to 4 trillion] was a market clearing price... Whatever the Wall Street consensus is for 2027, I'll take a 25 to 30% over on that... 4-500 billion is within the zone of realistic and achievable.

I actually was going to say 4-500 billion as exit ARR for next year. Seems very comfortable... the over-under really is 500 billion exit ARR for next year, and I think they think they'll do the over... the Anthropic IPO is really important for the market — everyone's going to be looking to Anthropic's quarterly earnings as the pace car.

Episode digest

written during extraction and stored in data/extractions/ep285.json — the auditable source of truth, including everything market-adjacent that did not earn a capture

Anthropic's rumored $2T October IPO dominates: Gavin Baker (guest, ex-SpaceX lead investor) reads the leak as banker sandbagging and reiterates $3-4T as the market-clearing zone, Sacks calls $400-500B exit ARR for 2027 'very comfortable' and crowns Anthropic the industry's pace car, while Jason opposes with his open-source-commoditization thesis (GLM 90% cheaper, growth slows 'considerably'). Nvidia's $500B financing consortium with Goldman/BlackRock/KKR gets framed as GPUs becoming an investable asset class — Gavin's 'central bank of AI' — removing the capital constraint on the buildout; Sacks flags compute glut as the only real risk but argues political headwinds insure against it. Both agree new datacenters run on natural gas for years (GEV/CAT/CMI expanding capacity fast). Grok 4.6's Pareto-dominant benchmarks revive the SpaceX bull case, Jason guarantees Meta ships the best open-source model within a year, and discloses a large growing AMZN position amid the Mamdani DSP fight. Zuck's manifesto segment was ideological (decentralization vs EA doomerism) — no new tradeable direction beyond the Meta idea.
