Where he's out on a limb

the differentiated part of his book — nobody else has taken a regular stance, or the rest of the table is on the other side. High information either way: these are the calls that make his record, and the ones with no cross-voice check on them.

we preference open-source, open-weight, because it allows us to modify the weights and train them. Something which most people don't talk about is, it allows us to interrogate the chain of thought. Because, over time, what's going to happen is, all of those enterprises are going to need explainability, auditability, and verifiability.

We can only get that with open-source, open-weight models. We can interrogate chain of thoughts. That's kind of one reason we're gravitating towards them, as opposed to getting caught into the closed race.
support ×1 sentiment 🤖 Neoclouds are a transitory GPU arbitrage, not a durable business E294 · 2026-10-23 ▶ 9:34
The challenge we have is, it's very hard to find a global, resilient, highly available, inference provider outside of the hyperscale community right now.

you talk to Jensen, he can't give you chips till 2028 He talked to, where do you get land power and shell? So it's very hard to go say, yes, I can go build my own data centers, but it's kind of an empty threat.
support ×3 explicit_prediction 🤖 AI compute capex supercycle has 12-24 months of runway E294 · 2026-10-23 ▶ 12:51
because I think demand is insatiable. There's enough demand, there's more demand than you and I can imagine. So yes, I understand the enterprise diffusion comment, but it's going to get diffused. The question is, if every company in the world today said, I'm in, I'm ready, I'm embracing AI, let's go as fast as we can. There's not enough compute in the world to satisfy us.
support ×2 explicit_prediction 🤖 Own AWS, Azure and GCP and nothing else — the clouds capture the AI application dollars E294 · 2026-10-23 ▶ 12:51
It all depends on where you shift the profit pool. Today, they all live in NVIDIA and the memory industry, and they're being shifted towards the hyperscalers, people who have large compute available because at one, it will become less about the chips, it will become more about the availability of compute

Jason, I think 10 days is too long. I think these things are going to happen much faster than every 10 days. I think part of the challenge we're seeing is we've been talking about technology debt that we will have to go pay sooner than later.

So I think you see banks saying, do not, I do not allow you to interact with me with your agent period.
