I'm going to stop buying meme coins, I'm going to start buying Bitcoin. I'm going to stop buying Bitcoin, I'm going to buy NVIDIA and things with real revenue.
I think there should also be some nuance that you could work on specifically with this group of being clear that when you have a ticker symbol associated with something, or you do charts associated with something, you know, it starts to smell like a duck, it looks like a duck, it's quacking like a duck, but then in the terms of services, it says, hey, this is a collectible.
I mean, to me, collectibles are not securities, but if it's a collectible, you got to disclaim that, look, this has no intrinsic value, right? That's a collectible. Think about a baseball card. A baseball card is a piece of cardboard. It has no intrinsic value, but the value comes from basically other collectors being willing to buy it from you.
People are gambling and they are being presented as financial instruments and they're trying to trick the suckers at the table, the suckers in this case being the people who voted for Milei.
there's these people called snipers that go and like pump up the bids right as soon as the coin gets launched. And then they're able to feed. So there's like this entire mechanism. It's all so shady.

Yeah. Look, I don't like meme coins. I think they're bad. And I think they're part of, like Patrick said, a broader suede of things that we need to figure out societally where the legalization of sports betting and combined with highly targeted advertising.

judging by the tweets that I see, there are a lot of ticker symbols and charts and prognostications about future price trajectories and so forth that lead me to think that people are placing somewhat more weight on the asset and security value of these
I don't like them. I don't think that they're like good. I don't think they're productive. I think that a bunch of people are going to put money in and lose money. And a few people are going to make a lot of money.
He made a seed investment in Solana that I think is worth billions now, especially now that Solana has recovered. ... I think that Solana was hard with the brush of being a Sam coin because SBF invested in it, but as it turns out, as far as we know, it's a completely legitimate developer project.
let's just say that those of us who are still holding bags of Solana are very happy campers right now.
They had a whale who had tried to loan out $100 million and they had to freeze their account because they thought the downward pressure, since there's not many buyers in crypto right now, could collapse Solana.
you could buy shares, you could lead a group, start a DAO, start a hedge fund, whatever, build a block to buy a bunch of shares. And then you could get a board seat on Twitter
And it is a very serious threat to the current system of politics and economics and social order. ... And so I would say the blockchain has really kind of created a new model for organization amongst humans that is waking us up in the political class more than anything else.
This was the year that loose affiliations of individuals could compete on a level playing field with organized capital. And I think that that's a really important trend for the future.
I say DAOs because I believe that they will become legal and global capital formation for the first time on an instant basis will exist. And I believe 40 million is the dry run for the Constitution. 400 million and 4 billion will happen in the next 10 years to do bigger and bigger challenges.
You need to identify through projects like this, the gas fees are a problem so people can move this to Solana.
That was ICOs. You could have done the exact same thing before. ... So it's probably simultaneously true that this thing was massively overhyped, while also being the case that it's a worthwhile experiment that may lead to useful innovation in the future.
My point is really that I think structurally what's going to happen is there are going to be more of these things that are going to show up that will rip people off and that will heighten regulatory interest and people will come along and they'll start to clamp down on this stuff.
The only fractionalized asset that has ever been proven to appreciate reliably are stocks. ... But I do think that you're overblowing this one example, because I don't think this showed any of that. I think that this showed how unreliable and useless Ethereum is as a transactional layer for these things. You know, the fact that these poor people now have money stuck in a dow that they can't get out of, because the gas fees would negate their contribution.
What I always look at when I see new technologies doing something is I just imagine if it 10x'd and what that would look like, and if it worked, and then I just 10x it one more time. So what we're going to see, I predict, is this $40 million dollar dollar will turn into a $400 million one in the next two years, and then a $4 billion one in the next 10
I've only been a buyer. I haven't sold a single Solana token. We are net buyers and we're buying a bunch of stuff. ... I think the writing is on the wall, which is Bitcoin is gold, Ethereum looks like it's trending to be silver, and Solana could be the first, but there will be others that come after it of real developer ecosystems that can be built on top of it.
I mean, I learned a lot of really bullish things about Solana, you know, at this conference. ... you could say that I'm long Solana versus ETH ... I can tell you right now, like this second, we are sitting on Solana that we have not sold. So, you know, I am long in that sense.
Additionally, it is a fraction of a penny for a transaction, and it can do many more transactions than Ethereum. So it's, you know, technically should be much cheaper.
As a result of that, we are indirect beneficiaries of this huge increase in Solana. It will end up being about a billion dollars of, I think, Solana for us in terms of returns.
