There's storage that's coming online very aggressively. The solar capability itself is ramping up aggressively. We're also forcing these utilities to actually be deconstructed so that there's more efficiency in the energy markets.
And we have to have this ability to more rapidly kind of accelerate high power output systems like nuclear. Because while solar is great, it's a low power output. You need much more volume.

So I've always thought a ginormous directional bet to make would be to go along the disruptor. The person that helps arm the rebels in this case would be the person that arms 100 million homes. And then eventually at some point just short the debt of these utilities because they won't be able to service them.
Technology is there. I mean, people are getting generators for natural gases backups. We're going to have to figure out how to take the load off the grid and build resiliency into it.
At the end of the day, there are tens of utilities in America, but there are 100 million households. And the only path to energy independence is to get every single 100 million household to be resilient, which means they need their own solar panels. They need battery storage. They need their own potable water.

Just to give you one counterpoint to your statement about energy independence arising potentially from solar, to generate a gigawatt of capacity and industrial scale solar farm would take about 7,500 acres. ... So the actual amortized cost over the lifetime of that solar installation works out to something on the order of 15 cents a kilowatt hour. Whereas if you do it on an industrial scale, it works out to about 3 cents a kilowatt hour.
Long term, I think solar is the answer, but I think that's a long term strategy.

The real solution is to actually go fully alternative and to go to renewable energy because you can today deploy solar vastly more aggressively in the United States. I think there's going to be a big kind of power generator push, right? Distributed power has always been something. That's the whole point of solar. You get the solar on your roof. You get your own power.
Look, I think the future of alternative energy is solar. ... It's an inexhaustible supply. The cost of solar panels keeps going down exponentially. The cost curve is going down exponentially.
